When the original labor collection product was named, the plan was to first release a product which would serve the market need to update Syspro Impact (now just Syspro) with real-time labor activity. The primary design thrust behind the Basic Labor Tracking product was automate the collection and posting of labor data into Syspro WIP jobs. This product was neither designed for or will permit a site to use the data and compute payroll or feed an outside payroll system.

After this initial release of the basic labor product, the plan was to then build an advanced labor product which would fill the need of a full time and attendance market need. As the design for the new release of Basic Labor Tracking For Impact continued, it became apparent that it would be possible to build a feature rich software release which would embrace both real-time labor capturing for Syspro and time and attendance reporting in one software solution. And so the name LTMS Labor Tracking And Master Scheduler For Impact was formed.
